Minutes of Special Meeting

Posted on Friday 25th January, 2019

Good Morning Everyone

Please find attached the minutes from our Special General Meeting before Christmas.

Thank you again to everyone that attended, the questions posed and the constructive nature of all of your comments. We hope to see a similar attendance and atmosphere at the AGM in March.

So far, January has been a month of consultation and listening. The new management board have met with the majority of the full time staff to listen to views on their roles, the club as a whole and any suggestions they may have to improve our business. Our team of employees approached these sessions with honesty and enthusiasm, it was clear from these meetings there are many opportunities for us to look into and a huge amount of commitment from them to improve the club.

We have also been listening to the membership, both directly from members approaching board members, but also through the survey. We have had a fantastic response so far and there is still a week to go before the deadline for submission. The feedback we receive here is going to directly drive the plan we will be presenting to the AGM in March, so it is important that members take this opportunity to give feedback, both good and the bad, thoughts how we can improve, and answer the questions posed around key areas of the club. The results of the survey will be circulated as part of the AGM process, so everyone can see the feedback. It is worth re-emphasising, this is your opportunity to be heard.

If you are not confident in your IT skills, there are hard copy forms in the pro shop, which need to be returned prior to the deadline (Thursday 31st January) so we can enter them in manually.

We have begun the process of setting up the new company and negotiations on the lease have commenced. The Board is meeting with John and Grace Pownall at the end of the month to update them on progress and for them to sign off the changes to the directors of the current company. Adam and Ian have signed to step down as statutory directors, but remain employed in their current roles.

We will be looking to communicate on a regular basis via email and on the website to keep everyone informed, but please feel free to speak with any Board member, we are genuinely interested in all feedback and are approachable for any questions.

Kind regards

James Norton
